Brand Protection Plan
Filing is the start, not the finish. A registration has to be maintained on the USPTO’s schedule for as long as you own it — and watched, because nothing tells you when somebody else starts using your name. This plan does all of it for one monthly figure.
$99 / month · 12-month minimum
What it covers
- Your registration. The initial U.S. federal application, prepared and filed by a licensed attorney.
- Every maintenance filing. The §8 Declaration of Use between years five and six, the §9 Renewal at year ten and every ten years after, and the optional §15 Incontestability — prepared and filed on time, for as long as the plan runs.
- Deadline tracking. Miss the §8 window and the registration is cancelled. It is not recoverable; you start again. The plan is what stops that happening quietly.
- Ongoing monitoring. The federal register and common-law sources watched for conflicts, with alerts as they surface.
What it costs
$99 a month, on a twelve-month minimum term.
USPTO government fees are not included and are never marked up. They are passed through at cost when each filing is actually made — $350 per class for the initial application, and the current post-registration fee for each maintenance filing. We pass them through rather than folding them in because the USPTO sets them and changes them: it revised the post-registration fees in January 2025.
The twelve-month minimum, plainly
The plan includes work delivered up front — your registration is prepared and filed in the first month. The minimum term is what makes that possible at $99 a month rather than $499 on day one.
You can cancel at any time. Cancelling stops the plan renewing; it does not end the committed term early. Your cover continues to the end of the twelve months, and the remaining months are still billed — they are not refunded and they are not written off. You will always be shown exactly how many months remain, and what they come to, before anything is confirmed.
Is it worth it?
Twelve months comes to $1,188. Bought separately, the registration alone is $499 and monitoring is $99 a year, before any maintenance filing. The plan is worth it if you intend to keep the mark; it is not if you are testing a name you may drop, and a plain $499 registration is the better buy in that case.
